AboutSipsmith

Childhood friends Sam Galsworthy and Fairfax Hall founded Sipsmith with distiller and drinks historian Jared Brown. Their plans for a 300-litre still led them to campaign for a change to minimum still-size rules, which they helped secure in 2008. Their London Dry Gin recipe was first distilled in Prudence, a copper still, in March 2009.

The distillery moved to Chiswick in 2014. For its London Dry Gin, ten botanicals are steeped together before copper distillation, with only water added afterwards to bring the gin to bottling strength.

Floral meadow notes open the aroma, followed by rounded juniper and bright citrus. Dry juniper leads the palate before lemon tart and orange marmalade emerge, bringing a rich, complex citrus line through the middle. The flavours settle into a smooth, balanced and aromatic profile without losing their classic dry shape. The finish returns to spicy juniper, with dryness at the centre and a final hint of lemon tart.
