Château Sénéjac
AboutChâteau Sénéjac
Château Sénéjac traces its vineyard history to the sixteenth century, when the first known owner, Nicolas de Bloys, planted vines on the estate. The de Guigné family acquired the property in 1860 and held it for 139 years before Lorraine Cordier purchased it in 1999 and renewed the vineyard. Since 2011, Cordier’s nieces Philippine and Marguerite and nephew Gustave have carried the estate forward with Nancy Bignon-Cordier and Jean-Paul Bignon.
Sénéjac spans 150 hectares at Le Pian-Médoc, with 41 hectares under vine. Its clay-gravel ridge is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

French Red
Smoky blackberry and cassis lead, with pencil shavings, loamy earth and a light coffee note adding savoury detail. The palate is lively and medium to full-bodied, balancing juicy dark fruit with fine, steadily building tannins. Bright and charming rather than heavy, it closes on a saline, mouthwatering finish.
