Tuscan immigrant Samuele Sebastiani founded his Sonoma winery in 1904 after working as a stonemason and acquiring land in the area. The winery continued limited sacramental and medicinal production through Prohibition, then expanded under Samuele’s son August and later generations. The family sold major value-brand operations in 2001 while retaining focus on the Sebastiani name and Sonoma wines.
Bill Foley purchased Sebastiani in 2008, a current ownership chapter clearly separated from the founding family history. The winery now works across Sonoma County and its sub-appellations, using fruit and methods suited to individual wines. Sebastiani’s current Sonoma County range continues under Foley ownership while retaining the founder’s name and 1904 history.

American Red
Crème de cassis, black cherry and baked plum open a deep, polished bouquet. Allspice, graphite, mint and toasted oak add savoury definition, with crushed walnut and liquorice emerging in the glass. The palate is full and concentrated, its dark fruit carried by plush, fine-grained tannins. Balanced and velvety through the middle, it closes long and dry with blackcurrant, cedar, cocoa and a measured earthy note.
