AboutSandeman

George Sandeman founded his wine house in London in 1790, trading in Port and Sherry. By 1805, its casks bore the initials GSC; in 1811, the firm acquired cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia to age and ship its Portuguese wines. Its black-caped Don figure was created in 1928.

Sandeman joined the Portuguese wine company Sogrape in 2002. The house’s range includes Port, Sherry and Madeira.
