AboutTenuta San Jacopo

Tenuta San Jacopo is an eighteenth-century estate near Cavriglia, between the Chianti hills and the upper Valdarno. Brothers Carlo and Luca Cattaneo bought it in 2002 and began restoring the vineyards, buildings and cellar. Olive groves and woodland grow alongside the vines.

The vineyards are farmed organically and harvested by hand. Grapes from different parcels and varieties are fermented separately before the final wines are blended.

Italian Red

Sour cherry leads the bouquet, joined by sweet spice, tobacco, leather and balsamic notes. Warm and fruit-forward on the palate, it combines rounded tannins with enough structure and freshness to stay composed. A savoury, lightly saline quality gathers through the finish, leaving polished red fruit and spice in its wake.
