Podere Salicutti is a small estate in Montalcino producing Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino from vineyards around the property. The domaine’s modern reputation developed through a close focus on estate-grown Sangiovese and the differences among its parcels. Authoritative regional and travel sources document organic farming but do not establish a separate biodynamic status.

The property has changed stewardship over time, and one historical owner is not presented as the current operator without verification. Brunello, Rosso and the estate’s other wines retain separate appellation, grape and ageing specifications. Salicutti’s Montalcino work remains centred on three vineyards around the estate and organically farmed Sangiovese used for its Brunello and Rosso wines.

Salicutti Piaggione 2019 Brunello di Montalcino

Italian Red
$209.99

Pomegranate, red cherry and cherry skin lead a vivid, finely layered bouquet. Violet, lavender and underbrush add lift, while fennel, cumin and balsamic herbs bring savoury depth. The palate is taut and energetic, with racy acidity and powdery tannins shaping the ripe fruit. Graphite and mineral detail build through the middle. Long and focused, it closes with red berries, herbs, spice and a measured dry grip.
