AboutRossendale Winery
Rossendale is the family winery of Brent and Shirley Rawstron, who live and work on their Canterbury estate. They planted three hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir beside the Halswell River in 1987 and built the Canterbury winery in 1992; later plantings brought the home vineyard to seven hectares. Expansion added the Brothers Vineyard in Marlborough in 2004; winemaking is now based in Blenheim. What began as enough wine for the family’s own restaurant grew into an export business.
Seven Terraces 2022 Sauvignon Blanc
New Zealand White
Passion fruit, guava and tangerine lead a vivid, fruit-driven nose, sharpened by kumquat and lime. The palate is juicy and brisk, with pointed citrus acidity carrying the tropical fruit through a clean stainless-steel profile. A light dusting of ginger spice adds interest to the snappy finish. Serve with shellfish, ceviche or fresh green herbs.
