AboutRobert Keenan Winery

Robert Keenan bought 180 acres on Spring Mountain in 1974, high on the eastern slopes of Napa Valley’s Mayacamas range. He replanted Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay and reused the stone walls of Peter Conradi’s old winery to build a new cellar. The first Keenan harvest followed in 1977, and Michael Keenan took over in 1998, beginning another period of vineyard replanting.

The steep, rocky vineyards sit at roughly 1,700 feet, with estate-grown Chardonnay and Bordeaux varieties joined by selected Napa Valley fruit for some wines. Solar panels installed in 2007 power the winery and other estate buildings.

Robert Keenan Winery 2022 Chardonnay Spring Mountain District

American White
$42.99

Citrus, ripe pear and green apple lead, with white peach emerging as the wine opens. Lees ageing brings gentle richness and complexity, while the absence of malolactic fermentation preserves a crisp, focused line. A touch of toast returns on the medium-bodied finish. Serve moderately chilled with roast chicken, grilled halibut, crab cakes or creamy vegetable dishes.
