Ricasoli

Intense ruby colour accompanies ripe plum, spice and toasted notes. The palate has silky tannins, present acidity and a long finish. Sangiovese comes from estate vineyards at 400 to 490 metres on sandstone, galestro and alberese soils. Fermentation and skin contact last fourteen to sixteen days in stainless steel. The wine ages for twenty-two months in 500-litre tonneaux, thirty percent new, and alcohol is fourteen and a half percent.

Sweet red fruit opens with blackcurrant, violet and a quiet herbal lift, settling into gentle spice as it develops. The palate is soft and medium-full, with elegant texture, fresh acidity and fine tannins carrying the fruit into a long, polished finish. Graceful and composed, it suits roast lamb, steak or mushroom dishes.
