Raven Spirits Limited is the Aberdeenshire producer behind Hrafn Gin, launched by brothers Callum and Peter Sim in 2018. A distillery trip to Islay inspired the idea, and a raven seen on that journey became the brand’s emblem; Hrafn is Old Norse for raven.
The Hrafn range combines traditional gin botanicals with citrus such as fresh mandarin peel and jara. Its approach pairs slow distillation with at least four weeks of rest.

Fresh juniper opens the nose, quickly joined by bright citrus and a deeper, spicy mandarin note. The palate is dry and polished, with traditional botanicals giving structure while fresh mandarin peel adds juicy aromatic lift. Distillation in Royal Deeside preserves a clear, composed style rather than overt sweetness, and the finish remains smooth and persistent with juniper and dark citrus returning. Serve neat, in a dry Martini or with a restrained tonic and orange peel.

Piney juniper opens the nose, swelling into spiced mandarin and bright citrus. The palate is creamy and smooth, beginning with classic herbaceous juniper before warming spice and bursts of pepper gather intensity. Mandarin then moves to the foreground, bringing freshness and definition without softening the gin's firm botanical structure. The finish is long and expressive, with deep citrus and fine prickles of spice lingering. Serve neat over ice with lemon peel or pair with a clean, dry tonic.
