AboutPloyez-Jacquemart

Marcel Ployez and Yvonne Jacquemart founded Ployez-Jacquemart in 1930 in Ludes, a Premier Cru village on the Montagne de Reims. Their granddaughter Laurence took over in 1988 and has worked with winemaker Christophe Prieux since 2004. Three hectares of family vineyards in Ludes, Ville-Dommange, Mailly-Champagne and Vertus supply Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, supplemented by grapes from long-standing partner growers.

The grapes are picked by hand, and the first pressing supplies juice for blends shaped by each harvest. A slow second fermentation takes place in cool cellars twenty-five metres underground. Most wines then age for years with the bottles stored upside down, limiting contact with the yeast sediment during this long maturation.

Apple, pear and fresh-baked bread open with hazelnut, flowers, chalk and restrained buttery oak.
