AboutParadigm Winery
Ren and Marilyn Harris moved to Napa Valley in the 1960s, bought the 55-acre property in 1975 and spent sixteen years growing grapes for other wineries before founding Paradigm in 1991. The vineyard lies on a gravelly alluvial fan in west Oakville, between the Mayacamas Mountains and the Yountville hills. Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varieties grow here, supplying all the grapes for Paradigm’s wines.
According to the estate, its vineyard gained organic certification in 2021 and fish-friendly farming accreditation in 2023. Heidi Barrett made every vintage through 2024; her longtime assistant Mark Fasi became head winemaker in 2025, working with cellar master Pedro Martinez.
Paradigm Winery 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville
Juicy blackcurrant leads a powerful, richly inviting profile, with clove and brown sugar adding warm spice. Gravelly texture and a cohesive structure keep the fruit focused, while a supple palate gives the wine generosity without losing shape. Lengthy and composed through the finish, it benefits from air. Serve with roast beef, lamb or deeply browned mushrooms.
