Paolo Scavino 2018 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio
Italian Red
Camphor, purple flowers, dark-skinned berries and spice appear with raspberry, truffle, cherry in spirits and liquorice. The palate is full bodied and enveloping, with velvety, fine-grained tannins. Nebbiolo comes from Bricco Ambrogio in Roddi. Dark fruit, cherry and plum are also present, and the mouthfeel is broad, long and polished. The wine contains 15 percent alcohol.

Vivid red berries and roses lead into tart cherry, dried raspberry, licorice, tar and earth. Medium-bodied and bright, the palate sets fresh fruit against fine, lightly firm tannins and lively acidity. Rosehip, anise and gentle spice add detail through the middle. The finish is long and polished, retaining silky structure, red-fruit clarity and a composed, balanced feel.

Black cherry and red cherry lead with lifted rose, mint and a measured savoury edge. The palate is structured yet composed, its ripe fruit framed by firm, polished tannins and fresh acidity. Notes of liquorice, tar, rosemary and gentle spice build through the middle without obscuring the fruit. The finish is long and focused, carrying dark cherry, herbs and fine mineral tension with classic depth and restraint.

Camphor, espresso and dark berries lead a focused nose. The palate follows with crushed black raspberry, orange peel, white pepper, chopped herbs and a light note of star anise. Firm yet elegant tannins give the wine a tightly wound structure, carrying the fruit and spice through a dry, precise finish.

Woodland berries, wild herbs and rose lead, with eucalyptus and roasted coffee adding savoury depth. The palate is linear and full-bodied, bringing dried cherry, liquorice and a distinctly salty mineral note into focus. Firm, close-grained tannins carry the wine toward a tight, dry and concentrated finish.
