AboutPalmaz Vineyards

Palmaz Vineyards occupies the old Cedar Knoll property at the foot of Napa’s Mount George, where Henry Hagen established a vineyard and winery in 1881. Winemaking stopped around Prohibition; Julio and Amalia Palmaz bought the property in the late 1990s and began restoring it. Their children, Florencia and Christian Gaston, and Christian’s wife Jessica Louise are also involved in the family enterprise.

The 600-acre property includes 64 acres of vines divided among 46 blocks at three elevations, from roughly 300 to 1,400 feet. An eighteen-storey underground winery uses gravity and 24 fermentation tanks to handle vineyard parcels separately.

Palmaz Vineyards 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

American Red
$289.99
Raspberry liqueur rises first, grounded by the mineral scent of wet stones warming in the sun. Black and blue fruit unfolds across a concentrated palate before moving toward sweet black tea. The Cabernet combines generous aromatic depth with firm but measured structure, finishing gently and with a calm, persistent sense of balance.
