Northyards began with Alison Round and Kathleen van der Ree, two friends drawn to cider by the possibilities of orchard fruit and careful fermentation. Round deepened that interest through cider education in Walla Walla and practical study with cider maker Andrew Byers. Their cidery is now in Salmon Arm, with a working orchard and tasting room.
