AboutBirra Moretti

Luigi Moretti established his beer and ice factory in Udine in 1859, and the first bottle bearing the family name was sold the following summer. The moustached man on the label entered the story in 1942, when a Moretti family member photographed a diner in an Udine trattoria in exchange, the brand says, for another beer. From its Friulian beginnings, the brewery grew into a nationally distributed Italian name and then an export brand. Heineken acquired the business in 1996.
