AboutMorandé
Pablo Morandé planted vines in Chile’s cool Casablanca Valley in 1982 and founded Viña Morandé in 1996. Ricardo Baettig has led the winemaking team since 2011.
The Adventure range explores old, dry-farmed vineyards in Maule and Itata, working with grapes including País, Carignan and Cinsault. The winery has also experimented with high-density planting, large casks and concrete eggs, alongside sparkling-wine production.
Morandé Adventure 2021 Colinas de Ránquil País
Red cherry and raspberry meet a lightly earthy note. The palate is fruit-driven, with tannins that are present yet fine. País vines grow in Ránquil on granitic hills with abundant quartz. Fruit comes from the selected Las Cruzes vineyard, whose vines are more than one hundred and twenty years old. The wine is made in the Itata Valley of Chile.
