AboutMoosehead Breweries
Susannah Oland’s home-brewed October Brown Ale helped launch Turtle Grove Brewery in Dartmouth in 1867. After the Halifax Explosion destroyed the brewery in 1917, the family acquired Red Ball Brewery in Saint John the following year. The Moosehead name first appeared on a pale ale in 1928 and became the company name in 1947.
In the 1970s, fifth-generation Derek Oland led the development of Moosehead Canadian Lager and its green-bottle presentation for international markets. Sixth-generation brothers Andrew and Patrick Oland continue the family business in Saint John.
Moosehead Lager 473 mL Single Can
Light hop, grain and citrus aromas introduce a clean, golden lager, with a faint cut-grass note adding freshness. The palate is light to medium in body, balancing gentle malt sweetness with measured hop bitterness. Crisp carbonation keeps the texture lively and easy to drink. The finish is dry, balanced and refreshing. Serve well chilled with barbecued ribs, smoked meat, or a classic burger.
