AboutMichele Chiarlo

Michele Chiarlo founded his winery in Calamandrana in 1956, at twenty-three, carrying forward the experience of a Piedmont grape-growing family. Its vineyards include Cerequio and Cannubi in Barolo and Tenuta La Court in Nizza. Nebbiolo, Barbera, Cortese and Moscato form the core of its wines from the Langhe and Monferrato.

Vineyard work is done by hand, with natural fertilization, cover crops, green manures, selective thinning and harvest decisions made parcel by parcel. Gentle pressing and restrained use of oak guide the cellar work.
