AboutMessias
Messias began in Mealhada in 1926, when Messias Baptista registered the business that would grow from its Bairrada base into several Portuguese wine regions. His descendants still direct the company, preserving family continuity while producing table wines, traditional-method sparkling wine, brandy and Port. The family acquired Quinta do Cachão in the Cima Corgo in 1956, linking the Port range to Douro vineyards planted with classic varieties on schist soils.

The profile is complex and intense, with nutmeg, orange peel and roasted almonds. The wine is full-bodied and complex, and the finish is excellent. Fermentation takes place in a granite lagar, followed by at least seven years of oak ageing.
