AboutMas de Daumas Gassac
Mas de Daumas Gassac began when Véronique and Aimé Guibert found an abandoned farmhouse and mill in the Gassac Valley near Aniane in 1971. Following geologist Henri Enjalbert’s assessment of the site, they planted Cabernet Sauvignon in 1972; Emile Peynaud advised on the first red vintage in 1978. The first white wine followed in 1986.
Four of the founders’ sons—Samuel, Gaël, Roman and Basile—now share responsibility for the property, continuing the family’s work among small vineyard clearings edged by Mediterranean scrub.
Daumas Gassac 2022 Mas Languedoc
Deep ruby in the glass, with cassis, dark cherry, leather and a cool mineral note. The palate is full but balanced, layering spicy red fruit over firm, well-shaped tannins. Dry and savoury, it carries its concentration with freshness, closing long with smoke, herbs and a restrained earthy finish.
Mas de Daumas Gassac 2022 Blanc
Complex stone fruit and citrus open with floral lift and a clear mineral line. The palate is creamy yet fresh, combining peach, apricot and orchard fruit with restrained richness and focused acidity. Gentle honeyed and candied-fruit tones emerge through the middle without overwhelming the wine’s energy. The finish is persistent and layered, returning to ripe fruit, mineral detail and a polished savoury edge.
