Marchesi Mazzei

Fresh cherry and savoury dried herbs lead the profile. A silky palate carries leather, cedar, spice and smoky dark fruit. The blend is ninety percent Sangiovese and ten percent Merlot. Fruit was harvested by hand from vines between fifteen and thirty years old, then the wine spent twelve months in small French-oak barrels, half of them new.
