Marchesi di Grésy is a family wine estate with vineyards in the Langhe and Monferrato. Martinenga is the estate’s geographical heart, a natural amphitheatre in Barbaresco that has been in the di Grésy family’s hands since 1797.
Alberto di Grésy established the winery in 1973, making wine from grapes the family had previously sold to other producers. His children Alessandro and Ludovica joined him in 2013. Grape varieties are matched to the individual vineyard parcels.

Italian Red
Bright ruby colour accompanies strawberry, raspberry and black cherry. The palate is fresh, lively and balanced, with medium body and tannins. A short vinification and malolactic fermentation take place in steel. Ageing takes place mainly in cement with some tank. Floral notes accompany the red-fruit profile. Nebbiolo comes from the Martinenga vineyard in Piedmont's Langhe.

Wild cherry and redcurrant are lifted by dried rose, orange zest and fine herbs, with forest floor and liquorice adding savoury depth. The palate is graceful and firm, built on fresh acidity and finely drawn tannins rather than weight. The finish is long, floral and quietly earthy. Decant before serving with braised beef or truffle dishes.
