AboutMaison Louis Jadot
Maison Louis Jadot began with the family’s 1826 purchase of Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules and was formally founded by Louis Henry Denis Jadot in 1859. The Kopf family, owners of longtime importer Kobrand, acquired the house in 1985 to preserve the Louis Jadot name and Burgundy roots. Thomas Seiter now serves as president alongside managing director Thibault Gagey, continuing a leadership transition completed in 2023. Across estate vineyards and négociant wines, the familiar Bacchus-head label unifies a broad Burgundy range guided by site expression and a deliberately light winemaking hand.
Domaine Louis Jadot 2021 Monthélie Les Sous Roches
Pinot Noir grows on an east-facing, 1.16-hectare site with clay and stones at the surface. Grapes are hand-harvested into small cases, sorted by hand and destemmed. Maceration lasts three to four weeks in open wooden or stainless-steel vats, with twice-daily punching down during fermentation. Maturation lasts about eighteen months in barrel, with around one third new oak. The wine comes from a village appellation in the Côte de Beaune.
Maison Louis Jadot 2022 Domaine Clair-Daü Rosé de Marsannay
Pale salmon colour accompanies wild strawberry, redcurrant and a hint of white pepper. This dry rosé is made entirely from Pinot Noir and has a structured, gastronomic profile. The wine is fresh, pleasant and fruit-driven, with body. A brief skin maceration precedes fermentation and maturation in tank. Fruit comes from Marsannay in the Côte de Nuits.
Maison Louis Jadot 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Estournelles-Saint-Jacques
Cherry, redcurrant and cassis lead a ripe yet lifted bouquet. Liquorice, iris and crushed stone add aromatic detail, while espresso, cedar and a hint of grilled meat bring savoury depth. The palate is concentrated and elegant, with dark fruit carried by firm, even tannins and vivid minerality. Focused and persistent, it closes with tangy red berries, earth and spice.
Maison Louis Jadot 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Morgeot
Peach and orange oil open a rich but tightly drawn bouquet, joined by white flowers and toasted hazelnut. The palate carries generous stone fruit over clear acidity, with a creamy middle held in check by firm mineral tension. Gentle spice and a subtle buttery note add breadth without softening the wine’s focus. Long and composed, it closes with citrus, nuts and a chalky savoury edge.
Maison Louis Jadot 2010 Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules Magnum 1.5 L
Wild cherry and raspberry rise from an airy, layered nose with earth, stone and integrated oak. The palate is concentrated yet finely detailed, its medium weight carried by fresh acidity and firm, dusty tannins. Bitter cherry, subtle spice and mineral tension give the wine a savoury edge without obscuring the fruit. Suave and balanced, it closes with a long, mouth-coating finish.
Louis Jadot 2009 Chambertin Grand Cru
Raspberry and cherry are framed by stone, smoke and liquorice. The palate is powerful and full-bodied, with intense yet finely delineated fruit, vibrant energy and considerable tannins. Its texture is mouth-coating without losing precision, and the finish is long, austere and complex, with a lingering inner fragrance. Decant carefully and serve with duck, venison, game birds or mushrooms.
Louis Jadot 2009 Musigny Grand Cru
Rose petal, sweet red berries, plum and subtle spice rise over a restrained wet-stone note. The palate feels weightless yet intense, with concentrated fruit held by fine tannins and lively freshness. Richness builds without heaviness, while precise mineral detail and a supple texture carry the wine into a long, graceful finish.
Jadot 2015 Bonnes Mares Gc
Wild berries and creamy cherry unfold with rose hip, currant leaf, black cherry, mulberry and crushed violet. Full-bodied, deep and concentrated, the palate balances exceptional purity and energy with chalky, fine-grained tannins and crisp acidity. Powerful yet refined, it finishes long and persistent and will reward patient cellaring.
Jadot 2016 Clos St Denis Gc
Pure and finely focused, with smoke-tinged blackberry, raspberry and a growing mineral note. The palate is medium-bodied and precise, its dusky red fruit drawn across delicate, filigree tannins. Graphite and quiet savoury detail bring definition to the finish, giving this refined red a graceful balance of depth, freshness and poise.
