Dark ruby, with ripe cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry framed by violet, green herbs and a thread of smoke. Lively acidity cuts through the red-fruited core, giving the palate energy and precision. Forest floor and black pepper add savoury detail, while flinty, wet-stone minerality carries the finely structured finish.

Balsamic notes, fresh red fruit, local scrub and spice accompany flint and broken-stone mineral character. The palate is dense and fresh, with fine tannins, acidity, red cherry and pomegranate. Two vineyards were harvested separately, and sixty percent of the fruit was vinified as whole bunches in old wooden Port vats. Maceration lasted twenty-nine days, followed by eighteen months of ageing.

Alfrocheiro comes from sustainably grown vines in granitic soils with quartz. The vineyard lies in Dão, in the foothills of the Serra da Estrela mountain range. Forty percent whole clusters ferment with indigenous yeast in a wooden vat, followed by a twenty-six-day maceration and fourteen months in Eastern European oak. The wine is bottled directly from barrel without fining or filtering. Aromatic character and gentle tannins are also present.

Savoury red and blue fruit leads, with forest floor, wet stone and green herbs giving the nose a cool, earthy frame. Layered on the palate, it combines ripe berry depth with white and black pepper, fresh acidity and fine tannic grip. The finish is persistent, slate-led and quietly smoky, with the fruit remaining clear and composed.
