Tenuta Luce
AboutTenuta Luce
Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi began Tenuta Luce in Montalcino in the early 1990s. Their defining wine, Luce, brought Sangiovese and Merlot together. Lamberto Frescobaldi has led the estate since 2005, overseeing the work from vineyard to final blend.
Southwest of Montalcino, its vineyards occupy varied soils, elevations and exposures. An underground winery opened in 2016, where parcels are handled separately and maturation is tailored to each wine. Alongside Luce, the estate makes Brunello from Sangiovese.

Italian Red
Black cherry and blueberry lead a polished, aromatic profile, lifted by violet and lavender. With air, dried rose, anise and a subtle balsamic note add depth, while toasted nut and restrained oak spice frame the fruit. The palate is concentrated yet poised, with lively acidity and firm, refined tannins. A savoury mineral edge carries through a long finish marked by dark fruit, herbs and gentle warmth.
