AboutLongmorn
John Duff built Longmorn Distillery in Speyside in 1894. He commissioned a railway beside the distillery to bring in ingredients and send whisky to buyers.
The distillery uses wide, onion-shaped stills and draws its water from the Moray aquifer. American oak plays a central role in maturation.
Longmorn 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Fresh green apple and apple peel lead the nose, with citrus, herbal notes, balsa wood and a Calvados-like fruitiness over dry oak. The palate is compact and richly textured, bringing lemon zest, leafy freshness, spice and a vinous edge as tannins build. The finish is long, dry and zesty. Serve neat or with a small splash of water.
Longmorn 23 Year Old
Soft vanilla fudge, creamy caramel and milk chocolate open into ripe pear, red apple and a measured note of spiced ginger cake. Double-cask maturation in American oak barrels and hogsheads gives the whisky a rich, rounded texture without blurring its fruit. The finish is exceptionally long and velvety. Serve neat, over ice, or with a few drops of water.
