AboutLes Vins Contés
Les Vins Contés was the Loire project of the late Olivier Lemasson, a Breton who first trained as a sommelier before learning winemaking with Marcel Lapierre in Beaujolais. He settled in the Loire in the early 2000s and began the project with Hervé Villemade in 2002, before continuing independently from 2006.
From his Touraine base, he made wines from his own parcels and grapes bought from organic growers. He favoured low-intervention methods, often bottling his wines as Vin de France and giving them playful names. Lemasson died in June 2021; 2020 was his final vintage.
Les Vins Contés 2020 Pow Blop Wizz Pétillant Rosé
Two days of skin contact in stainless steel precede fifteen days of fermentation. The wine is bottled while sugar and yeast remain, then finished without filtration, fining or added sulphur. Grenadine, cherry and wild-strawberry notes accompany soft bubbles and fresh acidity. The colour recalls acerola, while the finish carries a juicy, fruit-driven character. Alcohol is 11%.
