AboutLe Rughe

Le Rughe traces its story to Gaetano Sandro, who studied at Conegliano’s oenology school and began selling wine to visitors on the Venetian coast in the 1960s. That family venture developed into a northern Veneto winery with three distinct centres. The historic base at Gaiarine is joined by vineyards in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills and the high Belluno site known as Cor.

The range spans Prosecco DOCG, Prosecco DOC and still wines. At Ogliano, the vineyards lie on clay and limestone marl; at Cor, the winery grows disease-resistant varieties in the mountains.

Citrus, acacia, pear and apple appear with white fruit and roasted pear. The palate is fresh, crisp, velvety and savoury, with soft bubbles and fine, persistent effervescence. Glera is gently pressed, statically settled and fermented at controlled temperature. Secondary fermentation and ageing take place in steel autoclaves for at least ninety days by the Charmat-Martinotti method.
