AboutLawson's Dry Hills

Ross and Barbara Lawson planted Gewürztraminer on their Alabama Road property in Marlborough in 1981, more than a decade before the first Lawson’s Dry Hills wines appeared in 1992. The winery opened in time for the difficult 1995 harvest, when its small press was kept running around the clock for neighbouring growers as rain threatened the crop. After Ross’s death in 2009, Barbara completed a gradual handover to Tim and Pauline Evill in 2014.

Today the team grows, makes and bottles its wines in Marlborough, drawing on sites in the Wairau, Waihopai and Awatere valleys.

Lawson’s Dry Hills 2023 Sauvignon Blanc

New Zealand White
$31.99
Passionfruit, mango and lemon-lime lead, with fresh green herbs and a gentle floral note adding lift. The palate is crisp and concentrated, balancing succulent tropical fruit with refreshing acidity and a clean, dry texture. Zesty and lightly saline through the finish, it pairs naturally with shellfish, goat cheese, green salads or simply prepared white fish.
