AboutLaStella
LaStella stepped onto the South Okanagan scene in 2006, establishing its winery beside Osoyoos Lake in British Columbia. Its idea of la dolce vita gives the house an Italian accent, with musical terms used to express the tempo and character of each wine. Winemaker, viticulturist and managing partner Séverine Pinte joined in 2010, bringing experience from France, British Columbia and Australia.
The winery combines low-input viticulture with non-interventionist winemaking. Organic and sustainable methods have been part of the project since its first vineyard purchase in 2004, followed by formal sustainability certification in 2021.
LaStella 2025 Moscato d’Osoyoos 375 mL
Orange blossom, peach rind, rose petal and melon form an intensely aromatic profile. Light effervescence lifts the fruit, while bright acidity and measured sweetness keep the palate lively rather than heavy. Serve well chilled as an aperitif, with brunch, a cheese board or gently spiced Thai, Cambodian and Vietnamese dishes; it is especially appealing alongside fragrant herbs and mild heat.
La Stella 2022 Fortissimo Okanagan Valley
Bing cherry, red cherry and black cherry mingle with grilled herbs, cured tobacco and a subtle frame of warm oak. The palate is layered and savoury, with generous fruit, measured extraction and supple structure already working in harmony. Fresh acidity keeps the finish poised and inviting. Serve with osso buco, rosemary-crusted lamb or a mushroom cannelloni.
La Stella 2022 Arioso Sangiovese Grosso
Light red colour accompanies a medium-bodied profile. Bing cherry, red currant, leather and wild herbs appear with a linear shape, natural acidity and rustic, firm tannins. The wine is made from Sangiovese Grosso grown in the Osoyoos Lake District. Its chiseled, elegant character suits wild boar or mushroom ragù, two pairings suggested for this southern Okanagan release.
LaStella 2023 Leggiero Chardonnay
Green apple, quince and bergamot meet key lime and tart pear in a bright, focused Chardonnay. The palate is crisp and mineral, with an energetic line of citrus and a long, clean finish. Serve with oysters, steamed mussels, roast squash or a fresh herb-driven pasta.
La Stella 2018 Vivace Pinot Grigio
Grapefruit, lime zest and crisp orchard fruit lead, with bergamot, desert sage and a light floral note adding lift. The palate is vibrant and finely textured, carrying green apple and citrus through a mouthwatering, mineral finish.
LaStella 2020 Fortissimo Okanagan Valley 375 mL
Black and red cherry, dark plum and spiced fruitcake unfold beside aromatic herbs, cured tobacco and dusty desert scrub. Bold and layered on the palate, it combines ripe fruit with fresh acidity, savoury depth and well-integrated oak that stays in the background. Baking spice and tobacco extend the long finish. Excellent with braised veal, roast lamb or hearty vegetables.
