AboutChâteau Larrivet Haut-Brion

Records trace Château Larrivet Haut-Brion to 1840, although the property reached its present name only in 1929. Philippe and Christine Gervoson acquired the then-seventeen-hectare estate in 1987 and began the long work of restoring its vineyards and cellars. The property has since grown to more than seventy hectares.

Its Pessac-Léognan vineyards lie on deep gravel terraces over sand and clay. The red plantings combine Merlot with both Cabernets, while Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon carry the estate’s white-wine tradition. The cellar works with selections from individual parcels and a variety of ageing vessels.

Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2001 Pessac-Léognan

French Red
$89.99
Tobacco, spice and faded rose aromas give this Pessac-Léognan a savoury, floral character. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon combine in a full, rounded palate with a soft, voluptuous feel. Subtle flavours unfold through the middle, carrying the aromatic complexity into a long and gently lingering finish.
