AboutKristinus Wine Estate
Kristinus Wine Estate is based in Kéthely, on the southwestern side of Hungary’s Lake Balaton. It began farming biodynamically at the end of 2018, using natural preparations in place of synthetic sprays, herbicides and fertilizers. Cows and other animals joined the farm from 2020, with their manure used in vineyard preparations. The cellar follows a low-intervention approach, and the estate’s wines include pétillant naturel sparkling wine.
Kristinus 2020 Lunel Muscat Pét-Nat
An exuberantly aromatic Muscat pét-nat with passion fruit, pineapple, orange peel, wild herbs and lime. Soft natural bubbles and a bright citrus finish reward serving it well chilled.
Kristinus 2021 Oliver
Rose petals, hibiscus, mango, passion fruit and blossom honey meet white peach, salted almond, pecan and lime. This skin-contact white is creamy, with mineral and lemon notes on the finish. Fermentation is spontaneous, and the wine is bottled unfiltered. It is made from Furmint and Irsai Olivér grown in Balatonboglár. The wine carries organic, biodynamic and natural classifications.
