Knockando

Knockando was founded in 1898 by John Thompson, who commissioned Charles Doig to design the Speyside distillery. Production began the following year, and W&A Gilbey acquired and restarted the site in 1904 after a difficult opening period.

Rapid mashing, short fermentation and quick distillation give Knockando its light, nutty, malty style. The distillery has a tradition of recording both distillation and bottling years on its labels.
