AboutKiuchi Brewery
Kiuchi Brewery began in Ibaraki in 1823 as a sake house. In 1996, after Japan relaxed its brewing-licence rules, it began making beer under the owl-marked Hitachino Nest name.
Its beers use ingredients such as Japanese red rice, sake rice, local citrus and domestic grain. Kiuchi began working with domestic barley in 2009 and opened its own malting facility in Ishioka in 2023.
Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale 330 mL
Ancient red rice gives this Japanese ale a distinctive rose-pink colour and a fragrant, fruit-led profile. Barley and sake yeast add depth beneath the rice, with gentle grain character carrying the palate toward a clean, lightly savoury finish. The texture remains lively and expressive rather than heavy. Serve cool with sushi, grilled salmon, yakitori, roast pork, mild curry or soft-ripened cheese.
Hitachino Nest White Ale 330 mL
A classic witbier aroma accompanies a refreshing, mildly hopped profile with coriander, orange peel and nutmeg. An exact importer record supplies those details and identifies a Belgian-styled beer. A specialist product page adds soft, flavourful character, sweet, fruity and tart notes and mild acidity, while the documented bottle format is 330 mL for this Japanese white ale.
