AboutJ. Moreau & Fils

The Moreau house traces its Chablis history to 1814, when the cooper Jean-Joseph Moreau married a local winegrower’s daughter and took charge of a wine house in the town. It is based at La Croix Saint-Joseph in Chablis.

The house works with long-term grower partners across many Chablis parcels, making and maturing the wines in its own cellars under winemaker Lucie Depuydt. Cellar practices include gentle pressing, separate lots and ageing in stainless steel or oak.
