AboutHermit Wine Company
Ingo Grady created Hermit Wine Company in the Okanagan after roughly four decades in British Columbia’s wine trade. The project centres on two red blends. For its 2017 and 2018 RMX blends, grapes were fermented together and the wines aged mainly in seasoned French oak.
After consecutive winter freezes, production is currently paused; Grady says a return depends on finding fruit and conditions that meet the project’s standards.

Canadian Red
Black plum, blackberry and violet open with cracked pepper and savoury spice. The five-grape blend is full but lively, with Grenache freshness, Syrah fragrance and Mourvèdre structure supported by Malbec and a touch of Viognier. Mostly seasoned oak rounds the texture without masking the fruit, carrying it to a warm, peppery finish. Serve with grilled lamb, ribs or roasted vegetables.
