AboutHendrick’s Gin Palace

William Grant & Sons launched Hendrick’s gin in 1999. Master Distiller Lesley Gracie, a chemist with a background in flavour development, shaped the recipe at the request of Charles Gordon. Production takes place at the Hendrick’s Gin Palace in Girvan, on Scotland’s Ayrshire coast.

The gin is made using two different stills: botanicals are steeped for distillation in a Bennett pot still, while a Carter-Head still uses vapour infusion through a botanical basket. Rose and cucumber infusions complete the recipe.

Scottish Gin

Cucumber and rose give the aroma its distinctive freshness, with citrus, juniper, chamomile and elderflower adding detail. The palate is smooth and dry, balancing cool botanical lift with a measured herbal core. Citrus keeps the middle bright while the florals remain controlled rather than perfumed. The finish is clean and composed, carrying cucumber, juniper and a light floral note in an even line.
