Heartberry Soda was founded by Nadine Jopson, a Plains Cree entrepreneur and member of Alexander Cree First Nation. The idea took shape during the pandemic, when natural hide-tanning classes and renewed interest in foraging led her to experiment with native plants in soda.
The small-batch sodas combine fruit with botanicals such as birch and fireweed. Through Heartberry, Jopson aims to broaden Indigenous representation in food and drink.

Lush raspberry leads with bright, juicy fruit, followed by delicate fireweed florals and a lightly wild, herbal edge. Fine effervescence keeps the palate lifted, balancing the berry sweetness with a fresh, composed finish. Serve thoroughly chilled on its own or over ice, or pair with soft cheese, dark chocolate, fruit tarts or a picnic spread for an elegant alcohol-free option.
