GlenAllachie Distillers produces MacNair’s under master blender Billy Walker, reviving the name of nineteenth-century Glasgow blender Harvey MacNair. The house selects mature spirits and casks; its MacNair’s range expanded from whisky into rum in 2021. MacNair’s blended malt whisky combines peated and unpeated malts from Islay and Speyside with aged GlenAllachie whisky.

Peach and vanilla custard open with treacle toffee, heather honey and sweet peat smoke. The palate is rich but balanced, carrying mocha, nutmeg and warm spice through a rounded malty texture. Peated and unpeated malts bring smoke without muting the fruit. The finish is long and warming, leaving maple, toffee, struck match and a measured smoky echo.
