Founded in 1985, Glen Carlou lies on the northern slopes of the Simonsberg in Paarl, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay at the centre of its range. Cellarmaster Johnnie Calitz brings years of experience in the region.
The vineyards include decomposed granite, clay and quartz soils, with farming and replanting managed block by block. The estate recycles wastewater.

South African Red
Ripe blackberry and dark cherry lead, with mint and dark chocolate adding depth. The palate is full and generous, carrying concentrated fruit through lively acidity and fine, silky tannins. Pomegranate and savoury spice gather through the long finish, making it a natural match for roast lamb, grilled beef, braised short ribs or mushroom dishes.
