Sperone’s roots reach back to 1880, when Bernardino Martini and his sons established a Piedmont wine and vermouth business. Giacomo Sperone, who trained in winemaking, married Laura Martini in 1939 and inherited the company and a handwritten book of recipes. The business moved to Milan in 1952 and to Cusano Milanino in 1962.
Paolo and Antonio Sperone joined in the 1970s, and the family acquired the Piedmont estate Tenute Neirano in 1982. Francesca and Andrea later became the fifth generation to enter the business. The range spans sparkling and still wines, vermouth, fortified wines and liqueurs.

Amber in colour with a copper rim, this opens on marmalade, burnt sugar and dried citrus peel. Raisin and fig add richness, while smoke and toasted nuts bring savoury depth. The palate is rounded and concentrated, balanced by enough acidity to keep the dried-fruit character from feeling heavy. A nutty finish carries the flavours with measured warmth, leaving orange peel, fig and gentle caramel in its wake.
