AboutGallica

Rosemary Cakebread began making Gallica in 2007 after decades working in Napa and Bordeaux, with a focus on single-vineyard wines. The name honours Rosa gallica, the ancient apothecary rose. Cabernet Sauvignon is central to the range, alongside Cabernet Franc, Grenache and Albariño from California vineyards.

Gallica’s home vineyard in St Helena includes Cabernet Sauvignon planted in 1990 and Petite Sirah dating to 1953. The estate’s grape growing is certified organic by CCOF, and Cakebread also works with growers committed to organic farming practices.
