AboutFritz Haag

Fritz Haag’s winegrowing history in Brauneberg on the Mosel reaches back to 1605. Oliver Haag took over in 2005 and runs the family estate with his wife, Jessica, focusing almost entirely on Riesling. Its key vineyards, Brauneberger Juffer and Juffer Sonnenuhr, face south on steep slopes of weathered Devonian slate. The naturally sweet Prädikat wines ferment spontaneously in stainless steel and spend extended time on their lees.

Fritz Haag 2016 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spätlese

German White
$59.99

Juicy peach and yellow plum lead this finely balanced Mosel Riesling, joined by citrus, blossom and a smoky mineral note. Natural sweetness is held in check by bright acidity, giving the palate lift, definition and a graceful, lingering finish. Serve well chilled with aromatic curries, glazed pork, blue cheese or fruit-based desserts.
