The Manetti family acquired Fontodi in 1968 and has since developed the estate in Panzano’s Conca d’Oro within Chianti Classico. The family’s long experience in terracotta production forms part of its local history, but the winery is identified through its vineyards and wines. Fontodi manages a large, contiguous property with roughly seventy hectares of vines within a wider mixed agricultural estate.

Sangiovese is the principal grape, joined by smaller plantings used in distinct wines rather than one uniform blend. The estate reports organic farming alongside broader sustainability and closed-cycle agricultural practices. Fontodi remains grounded in Panzano, Sangiovese and an organically farmed estate developed by the Manetti family since 1968.
