AboutFèlsina

Fèlsina entered the Poggiali family in 1966, when Domenico Poggiali acquired the Castelnuovo Berardenga property and began expanding its vineyards and cellar with his son Giuseppe. The estate lies at the southern edge of Chianti Classico, beside the Ombrone valley and the clay country of the Crete Senesi. Its old stone cellar, cut into tufa, was extended underground in the early 1970s, with stainless-steel equipment introduced later.

Sangiovese has been the focus of a vine-selection programme since 1983, intended to preserve the diversity of vines across the estate’s soils and microclimates. The estate uses organic farming practices and keeps woodland alongside its vineyards.

Felsina 2019 Berardenga Chianti Classico DOCG

Italian Red
$53.99

Pure Sangiovese from the southern edge of Chianti Classico, Berardenga opens with wild berries, floral lift, spice and a distinctly earthy, mineral undertone. The palate is fresh and savoury, with supple fruit, measured tannin and a long, polished finish. Its balance makes it a natural partner for tomato-based pasta, roast poultry, pork or aged pecorino.
