Fattoria AL FIORE has made wine in Kawasaki, Miyagi, since 2015, beneath the Zaō range in a quiet landscape of fields, mountains and lakes. Its name began with the Italian restaurant Hirotaka Meguro opened in Sendai in 2002. He started clearing abandoned farmland and planting vines in 2014, with the aim of creating a place where people could gather as well as farm.
Local tradespeople, craftspeople and volunteers helped turn a former elementary school’s gymnasium into the winery. In the cellar, Meguro favours simple, gentle handling that leaves room for the fruit and the season to shape the wine.

Japanese Sparkling
Strawberry and tropical-fruit aromas meet a juicy, bright palate and a gentle natural sparkle. Muscat Bailey A and Seibel 9110 are handled separately: part of the fruit sees carbonic maceration, while the remainder receives a short skin maceration before the lots are blended and bottled to finish fermentation. The result is an easygoing rosé pét-nat with lively fruit and a clean, refreshing close. Chill well and open carefully.
