Familia Furlotti
AboutFamilia Furlotti
The Furlotti family arrived in Argentina from Italy in the late nineteenth century and became winegrowers in Mendoza. Ángel Furlotti established the family’s first winery in 1914; a century later, fourth-generation Gabriela revived production with the 2014 harvest.
She has preserved old family vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, including Malbec planted by earlier generations. Native-yeast fermentation and a light touch in the cellar are central to the family’s approach.

Argentinian Red
Malbec comes from a twenty-acre Lunlunta vineyard at 3,300 feet. The site has alluvial soil and uses sustainable farming with vertical-shoot positioning. A pre-fermentation cold soak is followed by a cool, long fermentation with native yeast. Thirty percent of the wine rests in neutral French oak, followed by twelve months in bottle. It is lightly filtered before bottling.
