AboutBodegas Escudero
The Escudero family’s roots in Grávalos reach back to 1852, when Juan Escudero began tending vineyards in this high corner of Rioja. His grandson Benito studied oenology and travelled through Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne before returning to the family vineyards in the 1950s. That experience helped turn a long grape-growing tradition into a family winery with a particular interest in traditional-method sparkling wine.
The Benito Escudero vermouth draws on a historic family recipe, Garnacha wine and a selection of local aromatic plants gathered around Grávalos.
Benito Escudero Garnacha Vermouth
An aromatic red vermouth with ripe fruit, honey and cinnamon layered over thyme and rosemary. The palate balances the bitterness of absinthe with the rounded sweetness of very ripe fruit, finishing dry and gently herbal. Serve it well chilled, over ice with citrus, or use it to bring depth and complexity to a classic spirit-forward cocktail.
Benito Escudero Gran Reserva Garnacha Vermouth
An aromatic Garnacha-based vermouth with ripe fruit, honey and dried citrus, layered with rosemary, thyme, cinnamon and woodland herbs. The palate balances gentle sweetness with the clean bitterness of wormwood, while nutty and herbal notes carry the finish. Serve it chilled over ice with an orange twist, or alongside olives, almonds and savoury snacks.
