AboutDriftwood Brewing Company
Jason Meyer and Kevin Hearsum founded Driftwood Brewery in Victoria in 2008, with Gary Lindsay joining to develop sales and distribution. The first kegs left the original Hillside Avenue brewery that October. Today, its core beers and seasonal releases span hop-driven ales, Belgian-inspired styles, sours and dark beers.
Growth eventually carried production to Viewfield Road in Esquimalt, where brewing began in March 2021. A brewery bar and patio followed in November, bringing production, retail and hospitality together under one roof.
Driftwood Fat Tug IPA 473 mL 4-Pack
An intense hop profile brings grapefruit, mango, melon and passionfruit to this IPA. The official description records sufficient malt for support, seven per cent alcohol and more than eighty bitterness units. Its ingredient record lists Pilsner, Crystal and Carapils malts with Cascade, Columbus, Centennial, Amarillo and Citra hops, completing the brewery’s detailed account of the beer.
Driftwood Brewing Company Fuzztone American Brown Ale
Dark and chestnut-hued, this American brown ale is led by a rich blend of chocolate, caramel and rye malts. The profile is clean and malt-forward, with layered roasted sweetness and enough structure to keep the finish composed rather than heavy. Serve cool with smoked brisket, grilled sausages, mushroom dishes, aged cheddar, roasted nuts or caramelized onions.
Driftwood Brewery Viewfield Brett Saison 473 mL
Light lemon-yellow and softly cloudy, this Brett saison opens with bright citrus, gentle malt sweetness and a measured rustic funk. Lemon and tart acidity lead the palate, followed by light bread, honey, grass and earthy notes of wood and leather. Lively carbonation carries the beer into a dry, citrus-driven finish. Serve cool with roast chicken, goat cheese, charcuterie, grilled sausages or mushroom dishes.
Driftwood Abyssus Kriek
Extended maturation in French oak gives this cherry sour a deep, vinous foundation. A further year on sour cherries brings vivid red fruit and measured tartness, while the oak lends savoury complexity and a smooth, composed texture. The finish is long, bright and gently woody rather than sweet. Serve cool with roast duck, charcuterie, washed-rind cheese, mushroom dishes or dark chocolate.
Driftwood Brewery Raised by Wolves IPA 4-Pack
Fruit-forward and expressive, this IPA uses Ekuanot hops to build layers of mango, melon and papaya. A highly aromatic yeast strain reinforces the tropical profile, giving the palate a juicy character while preserving the structure of an American IPA. Serve cool with jerk chicken, fish tacos, grilled pork, spicy curries, aged cheddar or citrus-led salads.
Driftwood Juicy IPA
Mosaic hops are recorded with aromas of orange blossom and mixed berries, while the Krush variety is described with tropical fruit character. The brewery lists six-point-two per cent alcohol and names Superior Pilsen and Caramel Pils among the malts. The published profile includes floral, berry and tropical notes together with the stated malt bill and strength.
Driftwood White Bark Witbier 473 mL 4-Pack
Coriander and Curaçao orange peel season this Belgian-style wheat ale. The official profile records citrus and floral aromas, with raw wheat adding cloudiness and enhancing mouthfeel. It calls the beer dry and approachable, while five per cent alcohol and the documented combination of citric bitterness, fragrant coriander and round malt complete the profile for the exact release.
Driftwood Fat Tug IPA 250 mL
An intense hop profile brings grapefruit, mango, melon and passionfruit to this Northwest-style India pale ale. Sufficient malt provides support, while seven per cent alcohol and more than 80 IBUs are recorded. Pilsner, Crystal and Carapils malts join Cascade, Columbus, Centennial, Amarillo and Citra hops in the recipe. The brewery lists it as a core, year-round release.
Driftwood Blackstone Porter
Ample body supports chocolate and coffee flavours drawn from dark specialty malts. The brewery presents this as a surprisingly quaffable session porter and records six per cent alcohol. It is also identified as a seasonal release. Dark malt, chocolate and coffee appear in the published description alongside the stated body, porter style and alcohol level.
